Washington Plumbers (washingtonplumbers.net) is a free plumbing resource for Washington State homeowners. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Information We Collect
1. Newsletter Signup
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use it only to send seasonal plumbing tips — approximately 4 emails per year. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
2. Contact Form
If you submit the contact form, we collect your name and email address along with the message you send. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
3. Interactive Tools
Our tools (DIY or Pro?, Cost Estimator, Seasonal Checklist) run entirely in your browser. They do not transmit or store any information on our servers. No data you enter into these tools is collected.
4. Usage Analytics
We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use this site — for example, which guides are most read and where visitors come from. This data is aggregated and anonymous. It may include:
- Pages visited and time spent
- General geographic region (state/city level)
- Browser type and device
- Referring website
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) — track aggregate site usage. Expire after 2 years, 24 hours, and 1 minute respectively.
- WordPress session cookies — set only for logged-in users (site administrators). Not set for regular visitors.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not affect your ability to use any part of this site.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process data according to their own privacy policies:

- WPForms — used to process form submissions. Data is stored on our WordPress server only.

Data Retention
- Newsletter emails — retained until you unsubscribe.
- Contact form submissions — retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics default settings (26 months).
Your Rights
You have the right to:

- Request correction or deletion of your personal data
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time
