Washington Plumbers (washingtonplumbers.net) is a free plumbing reference for Washington State homeowners. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

The short version: this is a low-data website. We run privacy-respecting analytics, and we never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

What we collect

Contact form

If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message — only what you type into the form. We use it solely to respond to your inquiry. Submissions are processed by our contact relay and retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are not used for tracking or marketing.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are read and where visitors come from. Data is aggregated; it may include pages visited, time on page, general region (state/city level), browser and device type, and the referring site. GA4 sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) with a 2-year / 24-hour lifetime. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

What we don’t collect

  • No accounts — there is no login, and no visitor data is stored in a database.
  • No advertising — we don’t run ads, so no ad networks touch your data.
  • No data from tools — our tools (DIY or Pro?, cost lookup) run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted or stored.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*). Disabling cookies in your browser will not affect your ability to read any guide.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we add features that change how data is handled (for example, a newsletter), we will update this page before enabling them. The date below reflects the most recent revision.
